The Gallery
in the late 1990s our school was granted 'Specialist School Status' with an arts specialism, and renamed to 'Altrincham College of Arts.' As part of this initiative, the school worked with many artists in residence, most notably Halima Cassell MBE, who has gone on to become a world renowned ceramicist.
The Gallery was opened shortly after, in 2001, to provide a platform for artists to showcase their work within their local community. The Gallery went on to successfully display exhibitions from practising artists, and was open to the public and local schools who had the opportunity to both view the art and purchase items for sale.
Today, the gallery is used to display GCSE and other in-house art exhibitions, as well as allowing students to enter competitions such as the Arriva Art Exhibition held here at Altrincham College.
