Year 10
The Year 10 pastoral programme is designed to prepare students for transitioning into young adults through the offer of help and support and guidance that is relevant to them. This is achieved by making students aware of current, local, national and issues that affect students and allows them to become more informed young people. Students have regular sessions on current affairs and news stories, allowing them to be more aware of what is going on in the world around them.
Students are given guidance on revision strategies and techniques to fully prepare them for their GCSE courses and examinations. Please watch the video below, for students, parents and carers, to guide you through the two-year GCSE journey. You can also download the accompanying document, which can be found at the bottom of this page.
Students participate in weekly careers sessions with their form tutor and are offered a comprehensive programme. Students will become aware of various further education/post 16 pathways and options available to them along with qualification requirements. Students will also develop their knowledge and understanding of career specific requirements which allows them to set themselves long term future targets.
