Textiles
Welcome to the Textiles Department
We are a dedicated and passionate team with a love for creativity! Our aim is to promote this wonderful subject and for the students to enjoy their learning.
Subject Overview
For Textiles technology lessons in Years 7-9, pupils are placed in groups that are smaller than the average teaching groups in other subjects; with approximately 20 students in a class. This gives the students an opportunity to design, make and evaluate in a safe and supportive environment. This also provides the teaching staff with enough time to support the students with building up their core Textiles skills efficiently in order to do well. Please click on the Textiles Key Stage 3 link for more information regarding the projects we do.
Your child can opt to take Textiles at GCSE level through both years 10 & 11. The assessment criteria for this are the same as Art GCSE as it is Textiles (Art) which we deliver here at Altrincham College. The beauty of the Textiles (Art) GCSE course is how it rewards and encourages creativity. Please click on Textiles Key Stage 4 link for more information regarding the course.
