The 16-19 Tuition Fund
The 16 to 19 tuition fund is a £96 million fund, ringed fenced for schools, colleges and other 16-19 providers, to support small group tuition for students in English, Mathematics and other courses where learning has been disrupted due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Altrincham College Sixth Form is eligible to receive around £5,000 from this fund for small group tuition and support.
The sixth form will primarily use this funding to support learners who did not achieve Grades 4 or above in GCSE English or Mathematics. Tuition will take place in small groups and will be prioritised to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or are classified as disadvantaged students.
The funding may also be used to support the above groups of students in other subjects that may have been impacted by periods of isolation and lockdown in 2020 and 2021.
Another aim is to utilise this funding for pastoral support in order to encourage positive mental wellbeing for our students.
