Applications for Year 7 September 2026

Offers for Year 7 September 2026 entry have now been sent out (Monday 2nd March 2026).

If your child has been offered a place at Altrincham College and you wish to accept this place, please confirm your acceptance by replying as per your Local Authority’s instructions. Congratulations!

If you have not been successful in securing a place for your child at Altrincham College you may choose to:

1. Request to go on the waiting list

Requests to go onto the Altrincham College waiting list must be made directly to Trafford School Admissions not directly to the school. 

Please put your request in writing to Trafford School Admissions Department (either via email to school.admissions@trafford.gov.uk or on paper to School Admissions, Waterside House, Waterside, Sale, M33 7ZF), giving your child’s name, date of birth and home address and the name of the desired school.

The waiting list is held in strict accordance with Altrincham College’s over-subscription criteria and not on a first come, first-served basis. This waiting list will be held in accordance with our Admissions Policy.

2. You may also choose to appeal against the decision not to allocate your child a place.

If you choose to appeal against the decision, you must lodge your intention to do so directly to Mr D Wakefield at Altrincham College. 
You can do this via email: admissions@altrinchamcollege.com or if you do not have email access, by telephone on 0161 980 7173.

When lodging your intention to appeal, please ensure you provide the following details:

  • Child's name
  • Child's date of birth
  • Child's current school
  • Parent's name
  • Postal address and contact number

Appeal hearings for a place in Year 7 for September 2026 will take place during June.

You must lodge your intention to appeal before 27th March 2026 in order to be heard during the week beginning 1st June 2026. Any appeals lodged after 27th March 2026 will be heard at a later date.

Individual appeal hearings during which each parent/carer presents their case to the independent panel

Appeal hearings for anyone who lodged an appeal after 27th March but before Friday 6th June 2025. 

Appeals lodged after 5th June will be heard within 30 school days.
