Year 13 students at Altrincham College celebrated a wonderful set of A Level and vocational results yet again this year, with the average A Level grade achieved rising year-on-year.  Nearly half of all A Level students achieved grades A*-B.

Kim Earle, Headteacher and CEO of the Achieve and Learn Trust, said, “Today is about celebrating the success of our students. I am thrilled that many achieved their personal best, shown in the delighted faces at school this morning.  Hard work does pay off! Well done, and a huge thank you to our staff for their hard work too.”

Head of Sixth Form, Ali Mahmood, added, “I am so proud of our students! We wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their lives, and I hope they remember their time at Altrincham College fondly.”

Students breathed a sigh of relief as they opened their results and saw they had gained the university place of their choice.  Dhruv (A*AA) who will be reading Law said, “it felt really good when I saw my results this morning.  I worked hard for these results and my hard work has paid off.”

Further success stories include Nils, who achieved A*A*A and was delighted to secure his first choice at the University of Glasgow to study Immunology.  Oliver T was equally thrilled to have been accepted by the University of Sheffield to study Aerospace Engineering.  Amelie, Sam and Josie are all heading to the University of Leeds to study Economics and Maths, Economics and Politics, and Biology.  Amelie said, “I am so excited to go to Leeds and really happy that it has all worked out!”

Students studying vocational subjects are also celebrating their results today.  Iona achieved the top grades in her BTEC Fashion course, which secured her a place at Liverpool John Moores University to study Fashion Design. Meanwhile, Holly gained a triple distinction in her BTEC Creative Digital Media Extended Diploma and is looking forward to studying Computer Animation and Visual Effects at MMU.

As an inclusive sixth form, students with additional needs also achieved extremely well, and were accepted onto their chosen higher education courses.
